About me:

With a background in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, I started my research career as an M.Tech project student at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. I was awarded the BINC fellowship by DBT, Govt. of India and joined Bose Institute, Kolkata to pursue Ph.D. in the area of Structural Bioinformatics. After working for six years as a post-doctoral fellow first at the National University of Singapore and then at the Weizmann Institute of Science Israel, I joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur in 2021 as an Assistant Professor. In the same year, I was awarded the Ramalingaswami Re-entry fellowship by DBT and currently working on a project to understand protein mutational robustness, as a PI. 

What we do at IITJ:

My group at IITJ works at the interface of Computational and Biological Sciences where we develop and use computational techniques to understand biology. Our research interests involve understanding protein oligomerization, evolution, diversity of protein-protein interactions, and protein allostery. More specifically interested in investigating the importance of protein quaternary structure, identifying structural determinants of protein robustness to mutation, and their role in human health and disease.
