FLAME Research Group

About the Group
Flexible Large Area Microelectronics (FLAME) Research Group primarily focuses on futuristic semiconductor devices and their applications, such as on organic/flexible electronics, micro/nano electronics, and new semiconductor devices. More specifically, it focuses on organic field-effect/thin-film transistors (FETs/TFTs), resistive random access memory (RRAM), and sensing devices for flexible and green electronics. Demonstration of newer process technologies for reducing the impact on environment with eventual biodegradability of systems is also among one of the eventual goals. Former M.Tech./PhD students graduated from the group had been placed in companies like Intel, Samsung, Global Foundries, Apple Inc. and academic institutes depending on their interest. Group has strong linkages with many reputed institutions in India such as IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, NTU Singapore, Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Wuppertal University Germany, and others through student visits or interactions.

Group Leader		Recent Updates
	Prof. Shree Prakash Tiwari Prof. Shree Prakash Tiwari had done Ph.D. from EE Department, IIT Bombay, (2003 - 2008), and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at School of ECE, Georgia Tech., Atlanta, U.S.A., (2008 - 2011). He joined IIT Jodhpur in May 2011 where he is currently working as a Professor. His research includes development of high performance Transistor, Memory, Sensing, and Energy Harvesting Devices for Flexible and Biodegradable Electronics. His recent work focuses on development of devices for Neuromorphic Hardware and Energy Autonomous Electronic Skin. His group also explores nature originated materials for Sustainable Electronics, and Emerging Electronic Devices and Circuits. He has co-authored over 190 research articles including more than 90 in peer-reviewed Journals of high repute, mostly in IEEE, Elsevier, ACS, and Wiley Journals. Prof. Shree Prakash Tiwari visited universities in Seoul, South Korea for research interactions, including Seoul National University, Korea University, Kyung Hee University, Dongguk University, and Chung-Ang University, April 2025.**

Current Group Members
	Dr. Sourav Maity, Postdoctoral Fellow (DST Indo-Korea Project) Dr. Sourav Maity defended his Ph.D. on Flexible Energy Harvesters in 2024 from Jadhavpur University and CSIR-CGRI. He is currently working towards biodegradable devices for sustainable ICT.		Sagar Prashant Sahare (Ph.D. Scholar) Sagar completed his M.Tech. degree in VLSI Design form MNIT Jaipur in 2025. He joined IIT Jodhpur as a Ph.D. in January 2026 and is doing Ph.D. coursework. His research interest lies in sustainable electronics and organic transistors.

	Km. Jyotsana (Ph.D. Scholar) Jyotsana had completed M.Tech. in Micoelectronics from IET Lucknow in 2022. She joined IIT Jodhpur as a Ph.D. in January 2026 and is doing Ph.D. coursework. She is interested in flexible and sustainable memory devices.		Sachin Sonker (Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scholar) Sachin completed his M.Tech. degree in Embedded Systems form MNIT Jaipur in 2024 and joined the group right after that. His research interest lies in flexible and sustainable electronics.

	Monika Gadewal (TIH-Chanakya Ph.D. Scholar) Monika Gadewal holds M.Tech. degree in Nanotechnology from VIT Vellore. Before joing Ph.D. program in July 2023, she worked as a Project Engineer at NCFlexE, IIT Kanpur. Her research interests lie in the field of flexible and printed electronics, particularly for the development of eco-friendly and wearable devices.		Nishi Mishra (Ph.D. Scholar) Nishi Mishra completed M.Tech. in Digital System from MMMUT Gorakhpur in 2022. She joined the group as a Ph.D. candidate in IDRP (IoT and Applications). She will work on paper based devices. Co-Supervisor: Dr. Ankur Gupta

	Ritesh Kumar Singh (Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scholar) Ritesh completed M.Tech. in Micoelectronics and VLSI from RGPV Bhopal in 2021. He worked as a Project Engineer in at NCFlexE, IIT Kanpur for more than a year prior to joining FLAME Research Group in 2023 as a Research Scholar under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme. His research focuses towards fabrication of Thin-Film Transistors (TFTs) and Tactile Sensing Circuits.		Somnath Bhattacharjee (Ph.D. Scholar, PMRF Fellow) Somnath Bhattacharjee has done M.Sc in Electronics from West Bengal State University. His main research interests are flexible electronics, anthropomorphic transistors and E-skin. He joined the group very recently in 2022. Somnath submitted his thesis recently, and waiting for defense now.

	Dr. Anil Lodhi Topic: Demonstration of Flexible ReRAM Devices for Data Storage and Neuromorphic Applications Co-Supervisor: Dr. Arpit Khandelwal Anil defended his Ph.D. in January 2026.		Dr. Gargi Konwar Topic: Flexible Organic Field-Effect Transistors with Natural Gate Dielectrics for Eco-Sustainable Electronics Gargi defended her Ph.D. in June 2025 and Joined Fraunhofer IPA Germany through IGSTC Industrial Postdoctoral Fellowship.

	Dr. Anurag Dwivedi Topic: Flexible Resistive Memory Devices for Eco-Friendly Electronics: Fabrication, Modeling and Circuit Implementation Co-Supervisor: Dr. Harshit Agarwal Anurag defended his Ph.D. in June 2025. He later joined as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alabama, USA		Dr. Shalu Saini Topic: Flexible Resistive Memory Devices with Solution Processed Composites of Polymer and 2D Materials as Switching Layer Co-Supervisor: Dr. Arpit Khandelwal Shalu defended her Ph.D. in May 2025 and joined IIT Gandhinagar as a Postdoctoral Fellow.

	Dr. Abhishek Sahu Topic: Design and Optimization of Doping Free Bipolar Transistors for Analog and Digital Circuit Applications Abhishek defended his Ph.D. in March 2025.		Dr. Sachin Rahi Topic: Flexible Organic Transistors for E-Textile and Memory Applications Sachin defended his Ph.D. thesis in April 2024 and. He joined as a postdoc at Airbus, Germany through IGSTC Industrial Postdoctoral Fellowship. He is currently a Faculty Member at IIT(BHU), Varanasi.

	Dr. Ajay Kumar Mahato Topic: Fabrication and Characterization of Photo-Sensitive Organic Field-Effect Transistors Ajay defended his Ph.D. thesis in May 2021, and joined as a Guest/Contractual faculty at NIT Raipur.		Dr. Ishan Varun Topic: Fabrication and Characterization of Flexible Hybrid Resistive Random Access Memory Devices Ishan defended his Ph.D. in March 2021, and joined GlobalFoundries, Bangalore. He is currently working as Pixel Process Integration Engineer at OnSemi, Bangalore.

	Dr. Ishan Varun Topic: Fabrication and Characterization of Flexible Hybrid Resistive Random Access Memory Devices Ishan defended his Ph.D. in March 2021, and joined GlobalFoundries, Bangalore. He is currently working as Pixel Process Integration Engineer at OnSemi, Bangalore.		Dr. Vivek Raghuwanshi Topic: Operationally Stable Organic Field-Effect Transistors on Unconventional Substrates Vivek defended his Ph.D. in Feb 2021 and joined GlobalFoundries, Bangalore. He worked at VNIT Nagpur for sometime and later joined as a faculty member at IIT Bhilai.

	Dr. Vipin Joshi Topic: Modelling and Simulation of High Electron Mobility Transistors (collaboration with Prof. Mayank Shrivastava, IISc Bangalore). Vipin defended his Ph.D. in Feb 2019. He is currently working as a Project Scientist at IISc for sometime, he joined as a faculty member at BITS Pilani, Goa.		Dr. Deepak Bharti Topic: Small Molecule Based Solution Processed OFETs and Applications, Deepak defended his thesis in Aug. 2017 and joined NIT Jalandhar. He is currently working as a Faculty Member at Department of ECE, MNIT Jaipur.

	Dr. Sibani Bisoyi Topic: Bias-Stress Stability and Charge-Carrier Trapping in High Performance Organic Thin-Film Transistors, (Worked for 15 months at research group of Dr. Hagen Klauk, Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart 70569, Germany during Ph.D.) She completed her Ph.D. in 2016 and Joined Holland Innovative. She is currently working at Apple, Germany.
