I have completed B.Sc and M.Sc in Zoology from University of Calcutta, West Bengal. After qualifying CSIR, ICMR and GATE, I have joined SG Lab, IITJ in 2021 with the zeal for perceiving neuroscience at the biology-chemistry interface level. My research interest involves studying different nervous system injuries, specifically traumatic brain injury and its underlying pathophysiological mechanism in order to find its therapeutic lead through the development of peptide hydrogel. Apart from academics, I am very fond of reciting, listening music, travelling and reading story books

I have completed my B.Sc degree from Patna University and M.Sc from University of Hyderabad in Biotechnology. My research interest involves exploring the potential of small molecule-based therapeutics for utrophin upregulation in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). My research focuses on mitigating the detrimental secondary symptoms caused by the primary loss of dystrophin by regulating uncontrolled inflammation through innovative small-molecule treatments. Apart from research, I love watching movies, anime, and cricket.

Hello, I am Amlan from West Bengal. I completed my M.Sc. in Zoology from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, in 2022. Subsequently, I qualified for the CSIR-UGC NET-JRF in 2022 and GATE in 2023. I joined the SG group at the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur in 2024. My current research focuses on the role of extracellular vesicles in neuroinflammation. Outside of research, I enjoy exploring tasty food and singing in my free time.

Hii, I have completed and received gold medal in B.Pharm from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur in 2022 and further studied M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from Central University of Punjab. In 2022, I cleared GATE and GPAT exams. After my M.Pharm, I joined Jubilant Biosys as a Trainee Research Associate and later I joined SG lab in 2025 as a PhD candidate with the research interest in small molecule drug discovery for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). For co-curricular activities, I perform as a stand-up comic with Grow Entertainment. My weekdays are all about chemical reactions whereas weekends are about audience reactions.

Hi! My name is Nishita. I did my bachelor's in biotechnology from MJPRU, Bareilly in 2021 and secured a gold medal. I completed my M.Sc. in biotechnology from the University of Rajasthan in 2023. I have cleared GATE, CSIR NET, ICMR JRF, ICAR in the year 2024 and joined SG lab in January 2025. My research interests revolve around understanding the mechanisms and possible therapeutic interventions exploiting the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Moreover, outside of the lab, you could find me in the cricket stadium.

test   Dr. Samya Sen

My name is Samya Sen. I have completed my B.Sc. in Microbiology (2011) from Rastraguru Surendranath College, Barrackpore (West Bengal State University) and M.Sc. in Microbiology (2013) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (University of Calcutta) where I was conferred with the prestigious Fr. Franz Goreux S.J. Memorial Gold Medal. Thereafter, I joined the University of Kalyani and earned my Ph.D. in antibacterial nanotechnology and drug resistance in 2021. I joined the SG group @IITJ in March 2022 as a Postdoctoral Fellow, and am currently working on antimicrobial peptides/small molecules to mitigate antibiotic resistance development against ESKAPE pathogens.

Meanwhile, I Qualified for GATE and joined SG Group in January 2020, then selected as a PMRF-Fellow in 2021. My hobbies include drawing and painting. I am interested to work in chemical synthesis related to neuroscience.

test   Dr. Rajsekhar Roy

Hello everyone, I have completed my M.S.(Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research(NIPER)-Kolkata. During my Masters project years at CSIR-IICB my efforts were directed toward developing multitargeted peptide-based component which can alter the Aβ-42 mediated toxicity in Alzheimer’s disease. I have joined the group here at IIT-Jodhpur in January, 2020. Here I will be focusing my work on applying the interface of chemical, biophysical, and molecular/cellular biology approaches to understand how protein misfolding and aggregation contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) on a molecular level.
Thesis Title: "Unravelling Effects of Designed Chemical Modulators on Calcium Dyshomeostasis and Other Factors Causing Memory Impairments in Alzheimer's disease".

test   Dr. Subhadra Nandi

Hi everyone! I am Subhadra Nandi. I pursued my B.Tech from Techno India University, West Bengal, where I was awarded a Gold Medal for securing the 1st position in the Department of Biotechnology. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted research on the "Characterization and Comparative Evaluation of Antibacterial and Cytotoxic Efficacy between Two Quercetin-Au Nanoconjugates, synthesized using pure tri-sodium citrate and its natural alternative, lemon extract". I joined the SG Group at the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur in the year 2019 as an M.Tech.-Ph.D. dual degree student. My area of research primarily focuses on the development of microfluidic brain-on-chip platforms.
Thesis Title: "Xurography-Based Microfluidic Platform for Mimicking Neuronal Cytoarchitecture and Exploring its Application in Neurodegenerative Disease Research".

test   Dr. Shubham Garg

I did my Master’s in Biotechnology from Central University of Rajasthan. During my M.Sc. project, I worked on nanoparticles-mediated drug delivery and its application in wound healing. Meanwhile, I joined the SG group in July 2019. I am broadly interested in the use of nanoparticles to interrogate the biological systems and looking forward to applying Nanobiotechnology to unanswered questions of Alzheimer’s Disease. Outside of the lab, I have a broad interest in music, and movies. While “Movie nerd” would describe me quite well, I’m all ears for any story you have to tell.
